So friends, here's how it's going to work. If you would like to enter to win one of four great prizes, all you need to do is write a comment starting with the word: Gimme! Then comment with your favorite party theme - the best party you've been to, your favorite party post from this blog, or a party theme you've always wanted to try out. And who knows? You may just see this party theme fleshed out in a future post.

One entry per email address. US RESIDENTS ONLY. Drawing closes at 11:59pm EST on Thursday, Oct. 27th. The three winners will be chosen this Friday using random.org, and announced as an update to this post. Prizes will be shipped by December 1 at the latest.

Grand Prize: Fantastic Mr. Fox, Party in a Box
Win the Fantastic Mr. Fox DVD, a copy of my Wes Anderson-inspired playlist, instructions for how to serve food so you can eat along with the characters, and a movie quote game of my own design.

2nd Prize: TheBashionista: Take My Advice
A viewbook of all TheBashionista advice columns to date.

3rd Prize: 3 Bashionista Playlists
Take your pick of three (3).

  1. Gimmie! I would love to see a monochromatic party where everyone dresses in a specified color, and the food and drinks follow suit.

  2. Gimme! National Lampoons Christmas Vacation party-complete with a lime jello mold (with kashi cereal inside instead of cat food,) squirrel in the christmas tree, shitter's full sign on the bathroom door, cookies shaped like Tylenol bottles ('Holy Shit! Where's the Tylenol?')Reindeer glasses for egg nog, jelly of the month favors. bonus points (or jelly..hehe) for anyone wearing a chicago blackhawks jersey, leisure suit, or toupee. (none for showing up with 'some kind of lip fungus.')

  3. Gimmie! I'm dying to do. "Back to the Future"
theme party. (Was inspired by your use of the word future and my love for the movie and hoverboards)

  4. Gimme! I think a haunted house ghost party would be cool - everyone dresses as the haunters! The house should be decorated to look old and abandoned, with drapes on the furniture, and dust on the tables. Candlelight and creeptastic music a-plenty!

  5. Gimme! "Clue" party. Everyone comes dressed as a character from the movie Clue. The movie is screened. At critical lines, everyone dressed as the featured character must simultaneously imitate the performance. (Twenty Mrs. White's doing the "flames on the side of my head" speech...joy.) You can also work food into the dinner scene. Please find an acceptable substitution for monkey's brains.

  8. Gimme! I'd love to do an 80's themed party, not the most original I know, but I've never done one.

  9. Gimme! I helped host a 1920s-themed benefit once. Over the top and so not as trite as it sounds. I'd love to throw a party, any party, in our new house!

  10. Gimme! I have thrown some good parties for couples. We had a funny wedding one with a three tier real wedding cake where we redid vows in a humorous way. The guys even had to propose using five funny words chosen out of a hat.

  13. Gimme! I like the idea of a toga party, in a different vein from the fraternity/Animal House type. Dress in togas, but have Mediterranean-inspired food. There could be creativity with party games: gladitorial combat with NERF weapons, and some Olympic inspired games (darts instead of a javilin toss, for instance, or different kind of races depending upon space). Possible days for the event: March 15th (Beware the Ides of March!), Oct. 28th (a bit close to Halloween, but it's Constantine's victory at the Milvian Bridge, and 10/28/2012 is the 700th anniversary).
